I think it’s been clarified by now, but yes... 12’6” markings mean it’s 13’6”.

    Unless it isn’t.

Another thing to watch out for - angled bridge supports on steel bridges that are less than 13’6”. If you’re in the far right or far left lanes, you can top the corner of your trailer, and unless you’re paying attention could be easily missed.

The run I do gets me up there about 2200 on a Wednesday night. Sometimes the GWB-XBronx-Throgsneck is faster... but there is nothing like that view headed east after you come of the Verrazano across the BQE. Amazing at night.
Usually leaving Melville about 1200 on Thursday and it’s always a 2 hr battle getting back to NJ..
I grew up in Northern NJ. Love NYC. Was my playground as a teenager and young man. Wifey and I are going to do a week in NYC this fall. Just the bagels and cannoli keep me coming back....

Give me a time to scan one picture from that area midtown LIE crossing towards the towers in the silver light of sun a month before 9-11. Normally I could not care less about pictures up there, but powerful needed to shoot that one at 50 mph through pax window. Came out right.

    Little did I know...

Bagels, the bread. The sandwiches are like none other. Pizza as well. That's the only thing I miss about the place.

Yeah that's true, like merging onto the 495 from 278 and vice versa theres an angled bridge support to the right so you have to stay to the left. So when you're getting on and off, the ramp has two lanes, get over to that left side.

Paying women of the night 20 to keep the vandals off my rig on the corner of I think Brooklyn for a hoagie or sub sandwitch in two layers with a variety of whatever is good on the counter. God the street food.... Maybe that's why my stomach is the way it is...
