You are better off with no logs than false logs. Fine is usually less than $1000 for no logs so it just makes sense.. That is two days pay if you are rolling hard. I usually ran from Sacremento to Cheyanne 1021 miles before stopping to rest.

I never had anything close to a grand fine for log book, but have told them several times over the years that I just didn't have one. If you showed them one, they shut you down until it was caught up, without one it was just 8 hours.

In Ontario the MTO have been known to park the truck for a min of 24 hrs and you have to have a log book to leave. To be fair tho it was a 1 straight truck manufacturing company that usually did city work but was past the 100 air mile exemption.

That plan is not sustainable. The second time they catch you without logs, you will likely be in very serious trouble. The third time, say goodbye to your CDL plus a big fine and throw in some jail time too.

I did 680 going from West Michigan to north east Minnesota

I pulled in with 1 minute left on my drive clock

That was going around Chicago on a Sunday. If would be nearly impossible on a weekday with traffic.

When I pull over I switch my drive clock to on duty immediately. Than I can get up to speed for a few minutes before it switches me over to drive.

I was within 2 hours of my appointment when I came up on a recent accident

I thought I was doomed. Than while I was completely stopped waiting on the wrecker I threw myself back over to on duty.

When the traffic started to move again we were creeping

I got all the way past the accident and got rolling before I got thrown back on the driveline.

Curious if safety will catch it and wonder what they will say.

I have the only ungoverned truck in our fleet.

    Others are set at 68

I run 73-75 in 70 mph zones but can get a bad wheel hop at 75

Told shop foreman this. He said how the truck is governed at 68.

I quickly added I was coasting down a hill

I love having endless peddle when I see merging messes coming up going around Chicago
