I looked at my reefer fuel gauge this morning, and couldn’t believe my eyes. The gauge needle was showing “Empty.” I took out some rope and tied it on a small wrench. Then I dropped it inside the fuel tank. Wow. This guy stole some 40-45 gallons of fuel. I had just filled it up hours ago. Fortunately my truck fuel tanks remained untouched, and that’s because I put some locks on them whenever my tanks are high in fuel.

So I bought some fuel at Love’s, and then 2 miles down the road, bam! Level-1 DOT inspection, the first one I have ever gotten after 6 years of driving. I must admit I didn’t pass. I got hit with three violations for grease leaking from three hub inner wheels. Too much for having a 2019 trailer. Hahaha. I’m going to have to start paying every 3-4 months for TA/Petro to do a DOT inspection on my equipment. :(

You need to pay some one to tell you your hubs are leaking?

I suppose I can go to YouTube and learn how to fully inspect the equipment. I know, all truckers should know how to. By the way, it’s not exactly a leak, but grease is certainly coming out from somewhere.

I’m taking it to the dealer today. I have a feeling it’s covered by warranty.

Looking at the pictures the one is a legit violation, I might argue the point on the other one. I have a hard time looking at pictures though.
Where is your dust covers at, they would have saved you some aggrevation at the very least.

Only one of the images was a violation. They gave me three of the same violation because three hubs on the trailer had this same grease leak.

Ok, the oe picture looked like it might have just been some brake dust.
When you take your trailer in, I would tell them to finish building it and put the dust covers on. lol

I don't know what seals they use, most guys around here like stemco, but unless the spindle is damaged I will not use them, I get much, MUCH better life out of national and have for years.

It is a rare deal I have to change a seal, even when I do a brake job.

Wait ... one was leaking ... but the other three has the same grease leak?

So isn't that four hubs leaking?

I edited the comment for clarification. I was talking about one of the two images I posted was a violation. They gave me three violations because three hubs were leaking grease. There was only one hub in good condition. This was all on my trailer.
