No, I’m not a OTR Driver. My company does local work in our city pretty much.

I’ve seen trucks parked on like the on ramp of the northbound Cajon scales and wait for them to flip the sign. Guess what, they have cameras that can see that far, and will send a unit to go cite you for parking on a “Non Emergency” parking area. I have seen it many times. It’s part of my commute. And certain other scales are doing the same.
As a matter of fact, it happened to me about 15 or so years ago. I was legal but was playing the waiting game as you called it. Well, when the flip the signs to close, I took off and when I looked in the mirror, there where the red lights, Chp asked me why I was parked, I told him one of my securements have gotten loose, he said go inside the scales. I followed him in, when thru the scale and the light stood green so I kept going. I knew I was legal in weight. So just letting you know, something to think about next time your waiting.

That is what I thought, I always stayed way up at the pilot, then shot down the hill. I really don't know why as they didn't ever hassle you going in anyway.

If your worried about going thru the scales, get a pre-pass. You will get pulled in random. Usually you won’t need to stop. I have my reasons why I don’t have one. Any seasoned O/O will see my reason why.

No, I’m not worried about going thru them because I’m going to have to no matter what, but I was just concerned because I didn’t stop at one and I was concerned about getting a ticket if they had cameras. (Banning Scales)
