One of my all time favorite roads is red mountain.
The first time was on accident, I was talking on the phone when I went through durango one night and didn't realize I was headed to silverton till it was to late to turn back, with 52 000 on the deck. lol
It was snowing and lots of the time my lights just shined out over space, even slowed for tail lights a time or two before I realized they were my on. lol

Took that route a few times since, but daytime and less weight.

All of the roads going in and out of Seattle and Portland during rush hour. Not so much creepy, just infuriating because of the stupid drivers.

Yes, i only took it during the daytime and if empty. I had a dedicated route thing where I'd make 3 or 4 drops anywhere in Colorado, then reload in grand junction or montrose. I saw someone mention US 212. That road also creeped me the hell out! Its not as technical as the others, but i was on it in a blizzard last year and they dont plow it in montana! As for a creepy factor drove it at night, and I'd never been on it before so i didnt have that know the road feeling. People drive super fast on it even on ice! I just remember pulling over alot because the icy driving frayed my nerves alot. Heres a few pics

This mighta been mentioned, but SR30 at McCammon, ID Flying Hook exit east thru Lava Hot Springs to Soda Springs.

This was a nightly line haul run for me and I generally started this stretch around 0030-0100.

Nothing sticks out in my mind, but always felt unsettled until I hit Soda Springs.

Weird vibe, hard to put into words.

That's US 30, I believe. Big pull for miles from the J in McGammon, then down hill with a big long straight stretch 90mph easy if you don't watch it.

That's Fish Creek Pass. Spent a day and half snowed in on top that hill years ago, headed back east. Locals on snowmobiles brought us food, communicated with them on the CB,way before cell phones. Always kept some sardines and beanie-weenie,in the door pouch, but that didn't last long. They had to bring a rotary in from Utah,to blow the drifts open on the bottom along that long straight patch on the east side. Snow drifts were as high as my cab.

Yeah, that’s the one. Slept a few times at the brake check at top of the hill.

One February night in 05 I believe, woke up to a whiteout, said screw it and went back to sleep.
