Good luck "maintaing" 55 & keeping a safe distance in the granny lane. Actually this is my first ticket other than overweight or over axle. Never had ANY moving violation tickets or wrecks in a CMV.. total of 3 speeding tickets my whole life,,two of those were on my ZX10R BTW

IMO you have a better chance avoiding a wreck the further from the right lane you can get...yeah of course some were still cutting at 68 but no jamming on the binders to get on an off ramp. and to be honest as long as i'm not at fault in the collision i wont lose sleep over one happening,,if these people are dumb enuff to act the way they do,,they deserve what they get,,darwin at work.. now i know so wise *** will say i'm at fault bc i was speeding but thats bs in the whole scheme of things.

The problem is some that may say you are at fault because you were speeding may be sitting on a jury . They will also be told of any minor log book falsification you may have had in the last 2 or more years .

I was thinking maybe you was a 6 axle and therfore your stopping distance and weight really wouldn't play into it but being you was just a 5 axle it does make it harder to stop. I will say this, you running 55 and everyone else running 70, makes you more of a hazard.

Just curious. Why would it matter?

Isn't it considered a safer move to drive with the flow of traffic?

In most cases it is but we're talking about an oversize load here that doesn't manuever the same as a regular trailer . An oversize should have escorts to warn other drivers in advance of the slower speed . His permit limited him to 55 m.p.h. anything over that would be considered wilfull negligence in the event of an accident and possibly result in liability that could have been avoided .

I am not sure he had an escort. I believe he was a permit load, but not an escorted one.

Lets look at the facts shall we.
fact #1: You where speeding. Even you admit this. Doesn't matter how fast you where going. If it was faster then 55mph. Then you are guilty of speeding.
fact #2: You had an over size load with a permit that says your max speed allowed is 55mph. You violated this permit when you decided that the restriction on that permit where BS and that you didn't need to follow them.

I don't care how good the lawyer is. You are in deeepp sh!!!!ttt
