There is a 3rd option. Simple! If my history is so dang bad that I am limited to bottom of the barrel carriers I might give thought to changing careers. This really is not a choice. The better choice is who do you want to work for? A carrier that watches who they hire or some jackleg carrier that doesn't?
This is why I really don't like what ifs.
If these were your only choices..

Heck, they chopped my senior year I think sit through a hour and 40 minutes in three classes, one of which don't matter. Then out to lunch followed by 4 or 5 hours of feeding books into the library computer, which itself contained all books owned by the county system.
Near me in the same office a couple of co workers would work through spread sheet printouts about a foot think off dot matrix back then to audit and cover every book fresh bought and entered by me in the stupid computer.
God the money in those days... disgusting neouvous rich.
Just one little issue. "Hey Joe you got a 5?" Hey Joe... Hey..
Sheesh. before inflation in the early 80's money had some value. A dollar for a pack of smokes or a gallon gasoline, you call it. -
Yoh can make a heck of a lot more dough fixing them then you can driving them, and be home in you're bed every nite. Just like anything else worthwhile, you have to start at the bottom and work you're way up. My problem is money was never my motivation, I was in it to have fun,and I did. It's just not that much fun anymore, just ask any hand that's been around for awhile.

There are still a couple carriers that keep it fun and lucrative. They're just hard to get into.Tombstone69 Thanks this.

If I was limited to the two, I would say Knight. Yet personally if I had to go OTR again with a mega company I would say schneider.
LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
Yet even better is to ask @Chinatown and tell him where you live as he is the local best person to find companies in your area.
Like we need a thread called "Ask Chinatown about employment"dwells40 and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
#### Chinatown.. don't you see showing that big iron in all it's pretty forms and function is a form of attraction to those of us inclined to see it that way? lol.
Very nice. I doubt the ordinary company trucker working for that out fit would be around that too much. It would be more like drop trailer here and go away.lovesthedrive Thanks this.
