man. Let me rant. After 3 years of trucking. Otr and regional I'm about tired of it. I'm currently regional with Schneider but their forced dispatch and having me run local loads in the dfw area before finally giving me a "long" load is wearing down on me. Plus with me being cpm it's literally no benefit to me. All benefit to the company.
What are some other suggestions? I was thinking about getting into tanker
Companies running CPM drivers to do local loads

Get away from mega trash companies.
Don't ever go back to them.
This is what they do.
It's why they haveto hire 200 rookies a week.
Go to a small place that doesn't have all those
Drop yards and terminals everywhere.
It pick up another load and keep moving
Or you could just tell them NO:
I'm not working for free anymore.
See what they say about that.Woodys, LtlAnonymous, Texas_hwy_287 and 5 others Thank this. -
K_Mast78 and Intothesunset Thank this.

Can you ask your DM to be paid in the local rate since you're doing so much of it?
Intothesunset Thanks this. -
Work for free then.
Not my problem.Intothesunset and Concorde Thank this. -
The big megas are not the only ones with benefits. I have known drivers that stayed with both swift and schneider and made good money, I don't know how long it took, or even if they actually started low.
Texas_hwy_287 and Intothesunset Thank this. -
The company I worked for that had the absolute worst health insurance was the one that was by far the largest. I’ve always had good insurance benefits everywhere else, at much smaller companies with a fraction of the trucks.
LtlAnonymous, austinmike, Lepton1 and 3 others Thank this.
