Halliburton used to own KBR. I knew a guy who driver over there. Would never shut up about it. You would think he was a General the way he talked. I always got confused thinking he was a soldier. What a dope.

There are vlogs and documentaries of being a contract trucker in Africa though. I’m not sure about 6 figures a year. But it’s mostly flatbed/oversized equipment hauling from wild lands a to wild lands b.
The contractors usually look for a driver with mechanical background. Not basic mechanical background but you gotta be imaginative also when shtf. In the documentary that I saw, I never thought bananas could be used as lube in a wheel bearing. -
Nope, not net. DOD freight is really slow right now and the Ex is trying to soak me for more child support. I’d rather go to the suck than back to family court. Regular truck driving is getting boring too and my wife could use a break from the road.

Have a good friend that was incharge of a platoon of US soldiers defending convoys over there several years back. They had a fuel tanker take an RPG round... Said he'd never seen a skinny Ugandan driver move so fast! They just left it there to burn. 2 days later they went back and were able to salvage 95% of the fuel in the tanker. Luckily the RPG hit the engine and not the tank.
Midnightrider909 and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
You missed the gravy train bro. They ain't paying like that anymore. A buddy of mine just came back from the granny. And realized it really wasn't worth being gone. Try the oil field insteadMidnightrider909 Thanks this.

If you are out of the country on those contracts for more than 330 days in a year, the first $91,500 of it is tax free.
My hubs is a plumber and has done the contracts. He is also a vet. According to him the compounds and bases are safe.
His security clearance is still current or else I don't think he would be getting some of the offers he is still getting.Midnightrider909 Thanks this. -
I had a heavyset friend of mine was driving a truck in Iraq, he quit and came home a couple of days after they blew up the cafeteria, a few soldiers died, God bless them.He was right there, butt didn't get hurt, thankfully.

Bases in the ghanny are still getting attacked. But it's pretty calm in Iraq. You wont make 6 figures. But it will be more than a swift driver.
