The shake is the tires. Guaranteed, i'd put money on it. Ive seen other Roadmasters do that on steers, actually i think most of them do. The previous reply that said they are Coopers made in China is correct. You will get what you pay for in steering tires. I would also check front end and if everything is tight have it aligned b 4 you get some new tires (name brand if youre lucky). King pins will cause the inside edge of tire to wear off due to incorrect / excessive negative camber angle of the spindle.

I’ve found that the life of a tire, especially steers and trailer tires, is over when they start cupping. That is, instead of wearing tread bald, other problems arise first. Steers almost always, due to all the variables, bad shocks speed the process, I’ve been running Firestone 591 steers for years now. Good tire for the money.

    I s
I should add, that although I get 130-140 from my steers, they usually have enough tread left to run another 120 on the drives. I’ve done that quite a bit on front drive axle. The last time I bought steers, one of the old ones was so out of whack, front end shook violently, couldn’t balance it out, honestly thought I had a serious problem. despite having plenty tread left.New tires fixed the problem. I think steers need to be rebalanced , or use equal or centramatics because the balance changes over time with wear.

Those tires cup/lump out no matter where you mount them. The RM drive tires are good for regional/local though. Yes, check the front end. Then get a set if General S371 tires. This is a great steer tire. It is an awesome spread axle tire as well.

Ok so here’s a little update.. The dealership told me to get two new steers and an alignment. Then if there’s still a problem they’ll take it from there.. They recommended Southern Tire Mart and when I got there they recommend the Firestone 591 tires.. Once the new tires was on I peaked inside of the old tires and noticed water inside of them.. I’m wondering if that had anything to do with the weird shake and wear?? So far the new tires are awesome. The ride has gotten 95% better.. I’m going to get new shocks once my checking account recovers lol, and that should get me back to 100% like when it was newish. Bought the truck with 177k and it’s now at about 370k
