I thought it was the other way around. You get the CDL free so to speak and you are not paying for anything out of your check.
I know some companies may have a lower staring pay rate and certain things like that but I didn't think you paid anything back unless you left before that year was up.
The only other thing is lets say you don't pay them back, do they put it on your credit report?
I am also pretty sure you can't use them as a reference either.

You pay them weekly, and if you leave before you finish paying, and then fail to pay later they will sue you, and if you don't bother paying then, they'll hit your credit for about $5000. Ask me how I know.
