Hello everyone. I'm new to this site and wanted to jump right in and introduce myself. I am a 36 yr old fellow truck driver and I've been driving for 3 yrs now. I'm currently with a company but I am looking for something else/better. After being a company driver for 2 1/2 yrs with MBM, I decided to do the lease option deal. I sure wish someone warned me about it before I left my "better paying job" with less responsibilities.
With the company I am leasing a truck with, I am only running enough loads to pay for fuel, maintenance, and a $2,000 mo truck payment on a 3 yr lease. VERY LITTLE money for my own personal bills.(Definately not enough) They keep saying it will get better, BUT with a maintenance bill steay increasing (already at $1500), I'm wondering should I just get out while I still BARELY have my head above water?
Is it wanting too much to find a truck driving job where I'm not gone from home to much and still make a little money out of Rocky Mount, NC or surrounding areas?
Any suggestions
