Leannamarie, yes i do agree that i can do better than them, and also as i just replied to biscuit...A lesson learned.I hate lying myself, its much easier just telling the truth regard-
less of how much it hurts. But if its going to eliminate one from be hired then one must
rethink that theory and answer questions smart not honestly.take care.

The system is set up to encourage lying.:biggrin_25510: It is horrible the way that something in your past can sneak up and bite you in the rear. You can be hired just fine at company after company, and then someone will discover something long buried and forgotten in your past that will disqualify you. Good luck finding something. I would think that a man in your position, 20 year exp, good MVR, retired Marine, would do well in finding a smaller company or O/O, someone who would value your experience and knowledge of the road.

Yes, I do know what fair means. Youy have posted a gripe with barr-Nunn because they have blackballed you. You have yet to explain how a company that you have never worked for accomplished this feat. As for your record, I'm not impressed.

[FONT=&quot]Hey Maninthemoon1, I feel what you're going through. I had shoulder surgery back in July 2008. Went through physical therapy and have been released back to work. I have sent out around 50 applications/resumes in the past couple months and no luck yet. No tickets, no accidents and excellent work history. In that time have driven over 2 million miles appx. I figure the reason for not hiring me is two fold. 1) shoulder surgery and 2) 58 years of age. This day and age, these companies are being real particular in who they hire, and I guess they are afraid of us getting hurt again. I live in the state of Washington and they have a program through L & I (workers comp) that if a company hires me, I am a preferred worker. The company that hires me would not be responsible for any injury to me if I get hurt for the next 3 years. Washington state would take care of any injury. Check with the state you live in and maybe they have the same type of program. That would keep them protected. But still having no luck. Well good luck in your endeavors and hope all works out. I know what your going through,i was injured in a tractor trailer accident in march 2008.the accident occured because lack of finanacial funds to take care of the roads in vermont.many states do not have a clear road policy.massachusetts does where i live.if you were to get into an accident in this state because of bad road conditions who could sue the state if hurt.i injured my left shoulder after a jack knife caused by icy road conditions in vermont.this is the only accident i have ever had.i have had my cdl since 1995.to add insult to injury the state of vermont charged me with speeding.they say speed was to fast for conditions.by the way my speed was 35mph on a 65 mph highway.many people traveling on this road called vermony state police to say the roads are very slippery and if nothing is done there will be an accident.guess what there was,i was the one who got hurt.i had my surgery on aug 2oo8.did the whole therapy thing and was released to go to work.i have filled out many applications, but havent been hired either.i was told by an attorney that you have rights.sometimes you need to be careful what you say.i'm not telling you to lie, they just dont need to know everything.if they ask you why you left employment, tell them it was personal.just because you had surgery doesnt mean your useless.it happens to alot of people me included.remember most companies are equal opportunity employers.which means they cant not hire you because you had surgery, that would be against the law.dont give up,there will be somebody out there who will give you a chance.especially with your high qualifications.with your record they would be stupid not to good luck.
