How about looking a ski areas. Back in my food and beverage days I worked for Mammoth Mountain ski area. Had a month off twice a year if I wanted it. Eastern Sierra Transit, the bus company that services the area has what I think they call 70/30 positions. You drive the bus during the busy seasons in winter and summer, and when it's slow, you take a "layoff" and collect UC. Basically any place that has summer/winter activities will have shuttle bus drivers. You could drive a tour bus around Alaska during the summer and see some great places and get to stay for free and have your food paid for, then drive a shuttle bus in Vail during the winter with the same perks. Just a thought outside the box.

Do you have a tanker and hazmat ?
Messer gas and Air Products will give you two weeks paid vacation a week at a time.

Or you could go to Propane Transport International and have plenty of unpaid time off!!!

I remember seeing an ad posted for the Greensboro north Carolina are that paid 18-26/ hr and allowed you to work as much or as little as you wanted and they encouraged retirees. Dry van local, don't recall the company

I could offer that with TN relocation except for the dedicated work or 9-5. Now that I own a truck company I realize it's not the dispatchers being meanies it's the industry itself that will not allow a trucker to customize a perfect schedule.

Head up north for the summer and haul dirt. Come November head home and relax until about May first.

The Minnesota companies all require you to have a MN CDL. So you pay ungodly state income tax.
I'm thinking I'll just go settle down back in Springfield, MO and hire on with an LTL there. I need the exercise! And it's a really nice place to live (and retire some day). Who needs vacations anyhow :p
