Well it may be their policy so I guess I would never work for them, yet I can do just that get under and see the fith wheel if need so be. But as I said before, I can not squat and wobble like a duck, Knees will not allow. Weebles wobble and don't fall down, but I do.

I always look at my locking jaws just from paranoia more that anything else. I pretty much know if it is locked in when I hear that CLICK when backing in. That said I have never duck walked under a trailer or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe for a physical once in a while.

They just do it, about 10 feet you squat down and move your feet aka walk in a squatted position, only person I seen fail while I went there was a woman about 35yo and over 250 this one guy about 350-400 lb did it. the big thing there is the nurses taking Blood pressure, alot of peoples read high, even mine and has never been high. And watch your blood sugar, so in the am the first day stay away from the OJ, donuts, and coffee.

why are you all in such an uproar about doing the duck walk? are you going to skip out on a job just because they ask you to do that? are they asking you to go above and beyond the call of duty? and as part of your pretrip inspection you should check the fifth wheel. there are some jokers out there who like to pull the fifth wheel on ya. i learned that one from experience.thank god i dropped the trlr in the parking lot and not at top speed on the interstate

I heard the click, started pulling forward, the trailer wasn't following, luckily i caught it on my drives. I look every time, and that is after a couple hearty tugs.
