IMHO, that law has to go. I don't trust people waving me into traffic, nor do I put much faith in other drivers' turn signals. That's akin to letting them drive my car with me behind the wheel.

Used to be that when you waved someone on, you were just yielding the right of way (a polite thing to do), and the other driver was on their own to make it safely. Now they take it as you directing traffic (apparently), instead of proceeding cautiously, and hold you liable. So much for road manners

I've ridden a motorcycle for about 15 years of my life, and if I can't see past something I'll start braking and slow to a crawl if I have to. You can go too slow as much as you want, or go too fast once - it's a free country and your choice.
And btw $1.5mil for a concussion, "permanent arm injury", and 5 cracked teeth (I thought Johnny Cochran died) is on the high side. I would guess that the sharks that got this pushed through are probably collecting 2/3 of it as "court and legal costs". IMO this slant on the law is the sickness of our country!GAPrincess Thanks this. -
This law makes no sense, what if the "negligent" driver was waving at a mosquito or waving at someone else on the road.
This guy needs a better lawyer.
