It depends on outside temp, load temp of load and effeciency of that particular unit. Start it up and try it. I've had a 0 load on a nd ran from NE to S Az and it ran full throttle all the way and never reached 0.

if you got hot loaded and the unit is runing and running and doesn't seem to be cooling then defrost it. Manually, 3 or 4 times if need be. defrost it untill no water runs out of the drain tube. They freeze up so solid that the programed defrost cycle won't clear it and it never cools.

Cooling an empty box, like cooling before loading, would probably take about an hour or less unless it was hot and sun was beating down on it, then it might take longer even if the unit is in good shape, frost wouldn't be a problem if the unit hadn't been run in the past few days and was at a temp above freezing. Keping the unit working when it is hot and humid requires defrosting .

When checking a unit, I would watch to see if the temp dropped quickly when cooling is called for.

Normally, if hauling frozen food, the product is already frozen and cold when loading, the unit is designed to keep it cold or frozen, not to bring large weights of product down to that temp.

Cooling an empty box from 70 to -10 should take about an hour. Roughly.

HI, I'm hualing milk at the present time and would like to purchase a refeer but am not sure what kind of rate I'll get on some of the load boards. I would hate to buy a trailer and find out that the rates aren't enough to make it worth while. Sure would appreciate any advice... thanks.
