Glad you like my thread, thanks for the feed back. Good luck to you and your hubby.
First day of oriantation (spelling) was boring as anything. Paperwork and little company movies. But got to see the Drivers lounge, huge lounge chairs that swallow you whole. Big flat screen TV. They fed us lunch and got us chinese food.
Tomorrow I think its all little movies and tests, they are going to feed us chinese agian. Then on Thursday they will feed us pizza, going to get each of us a one topping medium. At around 2 the first trainers are going to come by, not sure how many people are going with a trainer but its at least 10(including me). Sometime in the afternoon more than likly around 4 or 5 another group of trainers should come by and take more of us out. The rest will just have to wait for at least another day.
Dont know how much I will update when I get on the road due to the 3.00 an hour wireless at truck stops, but I will try to get on as much as I can.
Right now I am a CDL "A" holder, soon a trucker.![]()

Glad to see you got your C.D.L. I hope you get a down to earth trainer. When I finished at Swift I had to go to work "now" and they wanted me to go home and wait. I called every company I could think of until I found one that would train me. I kinda wish that I would have went with Swift they seem to have a lot of choices on what you would like to do. I say all that to say this. There will be good weeks and terrible weeks in this industry. What ever you do dont get mad and quit, hang in there if at all possible. You will have good paychecks and not so good paychecks but try to look at your average. You will see if you work your butt off for them they want let you sit. It really doesnt matter who has been there longer its about who can get that load there without all the fuss. Good luck and use wal-mart to buy your food while your on the road and you might be able to save some money. These Truck-Stops/Travel Centers are very expensive on everything. Hope the best for ya. Like the blog by the way.
