I hate to say this, but I think it will be financial suicide if you decide to go with them. Particularly if you are leasing a tractor from them.

Now keep in mind that my info here is a bit over four years ago. But the lease O/Os that I would talk to when in any of the Knight terminals were very unhappy. From what I could gather, they were starving to death. And this was when freight was booming and times were good.

I shudder to think what it would be like now.

I would not run as on O/O out of Phoenix for Knight and here is why....

    Southern California

Right now SoCal is a Black Hole, trucks go in but don't come back out. Wait times to get a load out(often just to Phoenix or over the hill to IKEA) have been 2 to 5 days. Running out of Phoenix I would say that 1/3 of your freight when leaving out will go to SoCal.

Now if you want to lease to the Container or ever Refrigerated divisions you would probably do much better. Also, if you don't like running OR/WA, then Knight Dry Van isn't for you, that's where the freight is with them.

What do you want to haul? You might be better off going with somebody with no company trucks if you have your own hauler.
