I think would love to have this applied to the State of Massachusetts, anyone who driven the Mass Pike (Interstate 90) knows exactly what I am talking about. There is a section of 90 when entering Newton, MA that is only 55 mph still, lets just say if you do the speed limit your going to cause an accident or get yourself killed.

Ok, so they increase the penalty for the speeders caught. How about catching more speeders first. As well as making the penalty stiffer for every ticket above 15 over that a driver gets inside of each year.
    1st ticket = 200
2nd ticket = 300 (same year as first)
and so on as long as within a single calendar year.
    1 ticket a year = 200

Or they could do what New Jersey does to make money and discourage speeding and other vehicular wrongdoing and institute a surcharge system.

Hmmm, next the the craziest drivers (New Jersey by far) Massachusetts already has that system in place and it doesn't help.

Again another batch of redundant LAWS.
Jurisdictions cant enforce the ones they "already" have.

    More is not the answer . . . . . . :biggrin_25522:

Trust me Ga is already one of the strictest states as far as speeding fines and penalties. I've gotten several tickets since I live here and I think that Ga fines are already high enough. I say make steep penalties if someone is involved in an accident if its their own fault. Technically there are stretches of interstate in rural GA where 85 isnt that unsafe for a 4 wheeler.... for example I 16 from Macon to Savannah. The autobahn in Germany doesnt have a speed limit....recommended speed is 81 mph. I wonder how the ratios stack up as far as bad accidents and deaths on that highway.
What really irritates me is when I see local sheriffs and law enforcement going way over the speed limit i mean like 85 to 90 with lights off. They are pretty hypocritical. There have been two instances where I have rode with a Sheriff (two separate small counties in GA) and both times they exceeded 85 mph this is on a 55 mph rural road in both cases. The first instance the local sheriff gave me and brother ride to our home because battery was dead in our truck, second me and sheriff were going to get a lock for a equipment trailer that had been broken into at my neighbors house. I wouldn't classify either one of those two instances an emergency. Of course I didn't say anything to them because it wasn't either one of them that gave me a ticket but they are basically all the same I think... maybe they think it's a perk of the job. I wouldn't mind paying tickets as much if the people citing them didn't do the same thing but worse all the time. I have found the secret though if you ever do get a ticket... get a local traffic lawyer definitely worth it if your a trucker. I got speeding tickets before I knew I was going to be a trucker and how important the dmv record is.... oh well.

Oh, hell no by far Jersey has the award on that one, and I think Massachusettes is next than Connecticut let's not forget the Florida drivers in New England in the winter time, that's surely by far the winner.

I know we need LEO's and their extended agencies, but the hypocrisy that
is allowed has greatly reduced my respect for any of them over the last 20 years.
State Troopers once had a position of Respect, now their all generic meter-maids set on revenue quota's.
I do what I can to avoid interaction with them on all levels,it will get worse in the coming years you cant bet on it.
