ronin i will admit yes you r right the short runs do lead into the longer runs on time or even to drop early is better only 1 late load i had but to answer your question about when i started and ended was the end of march to the end of middle of september due to a disagreement between me and my dm over hometime of my second child i believe that every person know matter who it is has the right to see there families but they need to work to support there families. There is one thing about cr england i will admit i got the miles to support my family it was my dm in my eyes who i believe who ruined both the job i liked to do and the the only job that paid me to see the country and get paid to do that. so yes maybe i do owe them some respect but just rember respect does go to ways i do wish all lease drivers the best of luck.

So, I had filled out an application to CR England just to get some information on what to expect or even if I was qualified. I had a five minute conversation with a recruiter and I was on the list to join their team or enrolled in their school. I was interested in talking to someone about the field and to get questions answered. I am very interest in becoming a truck driver but I wasn't even interviewed or anything. To me this doesn't speak much for the company and of course because I have a head on my shoulders, I am going to wait because I currently have a job but will continue to study and work torward the permit test just to have the ball rolling.

Crusher, as far as training and initial experience, CRE isn't a bad place. The main complaint I hear is that the "Phase 2" period is now 60 days. So, you have a 2 week school, at least 30 days with a Phase 1 trainer, some down time, at least 60 days with a Phase 2 trainer, who rarely has much more experience than you do...some down time, and then you have to team (unless you lease) for a year before you can go solo (as a company driver).
The school and initial training is seriously by-the-book, and it's the only place in the nation that I know of that will take a student and let you roll down a major hill using the jake - most schools just teach straight line backing, parallel parking, and basic driving.
After the training period, I'd run like hell. -

Actually, sir, I have a Master's in Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Maryland. Not that it matters so much, just that your statement is incorrect, since my degree specializes in curriculum development.

If only we lived in a perfect world where there was no war, violence, guns and douchbags on wallstreet crushing our economy... Guess what... trucking is on the verge of colapse.... I made one crucial mistake. I ordered a brand new KW T6000 and put the money down. Custom of course to bad even buying is slowly becoming a bad idea too lol... Picking it up in 3 weeks! Then it's buh bye lease op and england and hello 5 day a week job hahahahahaha. Seriously thou. I agree with 98% of what is being said. avoid the lease. noty just with england but anyone offering the option! It's not worth the stress you WILL endure and if I had it to do again I'd have just bought a truck from the start! Better poker hand when you own all the cards and I have never been much of a gambler so I'd rather take the better bet lol.
Do a year at England as co. If you like it then consider stepping up or moving on. Don't jump right in or there's a 86% chance you will be the next one killing your credit and DAC when you walk away. and if you have made the mistake. Stick it out and work your ### off and when the lease is up run like hell! Said it many times. It worked for me. Tis why I started the thread. BUT it just isn't for everyone and there is no guarantee of success. I can only give advice take it if you want it. But don't attack me for given it. I am only trying to help!
BTLADYANDTHETRAMP and diesel_dawg08 Thank this. -
I'll convert over to company driver when this demo lease is done in August. And get a nice raise, and not worry about idling the truck.

Ok... here's what I did... I #####ed to my dm then complained then #####ed more then I got to the point where I'd just drive my ### off. Remember, I have a truck that does 71mph. I only stop to fuel and I shower eat etc at the same time. I utilize every legal method of paper logging. I use my 2 hr breaks, I do pre trips in the fuel island and I do 97% drop and hook. I sleep 10 hours and go go go. I am like a machine. I am only like this because I have one goal. To get what I came for and get the hell out! If you and making 2500 miles a week that really isn't bad. but if you are getting those miles and still owe then you need to get out. I leased a truck that was used. I didn't touch anything new because I wanted to keep operating costs as low as possible and I got an APU (leased) That is saving me about $140 a week in fuel because my idle percentage is last I looked 1.6% it's all the little things that drive the buisness. I take alot of shortcuts (learn them well) and I average 7 paid mpg per week and I am on that rebate. As far as the miles (range is 3450-3820 right now) I have been with these guys a long time. I have shown my reliability and I help out alot. I swap when needed and I grab an extra 2-300 miles when it happens... Just been about compromise.
Don't know if this will really help but all I can say really. Just manage everything and consolidate stops. Time is the bread and butter in this game. If you trip plan and stick to it and take the short route when possible you will see a production increase and more $$$. But like I said... if you are constantly in thee red walk away
