Putting people on a stop watch makes everything faster and more exciting. Ask any sports leauge. They never implemened a shot clock with safety in mind.
All they accomplished is more trucks on the road, when what we need is less trucks and more skilled drivers.

It’s obvious that a lot of drivers aren’t smart. At all. Elogs mean staying several days ahead. A REAL trip plan. Not possible for these guys.

They fall behind and/or can’t deal with delays. The money just doesn’t appear on payday. Just the bills.

Reading truckstop reviews on Truckers Path one knows them by their need for a daily 40-oz. Not an option.

Let’s see: travels by Interstate. Has a computer to call out every lane change and exit and address. Another computer to keep track of hours, miles, fuel tax, etc. Satellite and/or cell phone to get advice, instructions and emergency service within arms reach.

Auto trans, power steering & disc brakes. Air conditioning. Cruise control. Antilock. Lane warning. Stability control. Refrigerator. Microwave. Big as a ###### house inside.

A CB if he’s half smart. Fuel card. Discounted services.

But it ain’t enough. Support and amenities only work if what’s between ears can do it.

The job should be 1/3 of gross. Hourly won’t work except metro.

How wrecks are caused by fatigued driving? Drivers going over their allotted drive time. Like that crazy guy who drove from Massachusetts to Seattle or vice versa.

It will fair for the driver , therefore is NOT GOOD BUSINESS for mega companies.
Can you imagine if a prospect driver will refuse to get pay by miles and accept no less than 35.00 per hr?
