City of Reno Business License?

No, but the post states "...a regular route bus service with pick up and drop off in Reno..." and based on this location tag "Reno, NV" leads me to believe that's where your business is based. Probably need more info to be honest. But first thing that came to mind was picking people up in CA and taking them to a Casino in Reno. If that's the case, then yes you'd need the licence. But if your driving from ID to CA and picking up boxes or passengers, then I would think not, but then again, better to check. But Reno and Washoe, County have some odd rules about that. When I did construction up there a while back, I had to get a business licence for both, even though I didn't do work in Reno, but because the address of where I was staying was in Reno (a friends house), but my business address was in CA.

 

It all pretty much hinges on the wording of the law...

I don't think dropoff and pickup would be considered business. Otherwise every truck in America would need a license.

But then, it's not an every day occurence also.

 

That's a point. But I think the OP is talking about something other than an big rig driver that's picking up a load at a terminal somewhere. When I went back and read regular route (not charter) service, then chances are he'll need the license. You would have to know more about the specifics of this route.

Did you explain this to Reno? Did you ask them why you need the licence? You obviously thought this out enough to ask if you needed the license of every city and town, and you probably fit into the 100+ categories of business that require a licence in Reno.Best just to call them on Monday and ask.
