I run for Yanke in Saskatoon. They turn us all down to 57MPH including o/o's We loose a few miles but make it up in fuel savings. From 62 down to 57 gives us an added 4/10 of a MPG. I also remember the days running single Victoria to Halifax in 4.5 days, no sleep, crappy food, poor equipment. Now I get regular sleep, safer conditions and more money in my pocket.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Which companies are still running 70+?

Here's one that you might want to try...http://www.bcjtrucking.com. Their trucks run at least 68mph. Or call 800-237-4634 and talk to Dena in Safety. They're based in Mt. Airy. It can't hurt to ask.

I wonder if they are compensating Dick Feller, and Jerry Reed for their song rights? -
Our trucks used to run 70Mph. New law in Ontario Canada forced all trucks going through the province down to 62Mph.

Guess these guys wouldn't have been too happy during the mid 70's when the national speed limit was 55 and a ton of companies had their trucks governed at 53. Can you say "slow go"?
Big Don Thanks this. -
I drive for a flatbed co in the midwest and ours run 74, no qualcom or any other recorders
-
Killroy I see you haul tankers. Do you have any info on dana or superior. I had my own truck in the past but think I will hire on as a co driver to start then maybe get a truck once again. I have been working local but it has been slow. I have been told by a few o/o that they clear. $2 to 4000 a week after expenses do you have any input on that number?

amen I so remember those days. -
well said,man

I never thought much about it. That kinda running was normal. I started in 1975 when I was 16 and never logged for at least the 1st 5 or 6 years. But this might explain why I'm 52 and on my 3rd heart attack, not to mention tired all the time!
The good 'ol days weren't that #### great. Just the money was better. Lots better.
