    Hey Everybody,

Anyone here ever used one of those sites where you fill out one application and supposedly it goes to multiple companies?

I ask because, all of the ones I have seen want your Social Security Number. We all know not to ever give out your SS# - so I am wondering if anyone has had any problems after putting their information into one of those applications.

It seems too easy, and there seem to be dozens of different sites that all offer the same thing - that is, you the driver fill out one application, and the employers contact you when they see what an awesome individual you are, and they all fight to be the one who hires you.:biggrin_25525:

Any legit services like this out there? Or are all of them legit?

    peace

Just make sure they are using SSL in the browser your using. You can tell if you have a lock symbol by your address bar. I'm not saying SSL is 100% but at least it's encrypted. :biggrin_2558:

I have recently done that, the single app thing. I never had a problem. There are a few different ones. But be prepared to have an inbox full of general company responses and numerous phone calls for a few days. Then when you decide you would like to explore a company further, you need to fill out their app online on their site or fax one back to them. It can be a pain in the butt, but it could be useful. Even though most of those companies that will send you something are the big ones who sign on with the site to draw in names and numbers for them.
But if you do a search for your state and what type of driving job you want (ie. reefer jobs in Ohio, flatbed jobs in Missouri, driving grad jobs, etc.) you will most likely find some resources that way too.

Good thread. I did that once and I lost sleep wondering the same thing. Although I didn't give them my SSN I gave them my CDL# and afterwards I questioned my sanity

I use a site called Layover with the usual suffix. Your phone will start ringing minutes after you hit the "submit" button with recruiters calling from about 40 different companies. Even in this down economy. I tried it a few weeks ago and that was still the case. None of the jobs were any better than the one I have, but if you are unemployed, it's a great way to start. You will hear from USXpress, Covenant, Barr-Nunn, Marten, and countless others I can't remember for some reason.

If anyone wants some of the sites just PM me or post a message here and I can PM the ones I used back to you. They have the app part and also info on the companies. And you can search many of them by state, type of job, etc.
