You can't use 4 gauge wire, the draw on the batteries is about 260 amps, the length will be about ten feet on how you route it and you will need to use grommets and secure the cable. 0000 is the best, you can get away with 000 if you need to but it has to do with the voltage drop from the batteries to the inverter.

2/0 or 4/0 copper cable, and protect all the holes with rubber grommets.

All those install kits most shops use are 4 or 2 gauge cable.

I had friend that had a competition car audio shop that went to IASCA world finals a bunch of times and had van that did some insane SPL.

The do it yourselfer’s were the bane of his existence. Fuse it within 18”. Split loom it, they make water tight pieces for going through sheet metal to prevent abrasions, and most likely any do it yourselfer will get it to work, but from what I saw they were one misstep away from a fire.

Do a risk/reward sheet. If your tractor is your living I would make sure it was done correctly. If you’re not sure find someone to install it, or find a shop that will check it out after you install for a few bucks.

The replies here are hilarious to say the least. As someone who was an automotive electrician, if you have ever installed a system in your car. Its the same principle. Good hot, good ground and a protected circuit. So many on here act like you need an electrical engineering degree

And yet you tell everyone it needs to be done by a shop..... who will use one of those cheap kits.

You can stick weld with a battery and jumper cables. A truck has what 3-4-6 batteries? If something goes wrong it's going to "weld" a long time and likely burn something down. Considering the cost of a truck and subsequent downtime I don't think it's unreasonable to advise having someone else do the install when the person with the question is in doubt.
