Start with the simple things first. Have the shop install a sight-glass or clear fuel line at the inlet of the pump, or filter housing and see if the fuel has a lot of air bubbles. A good culprit of your symptoms is the engine sucking some air from a leaking fuel line on the suction side.
-
u can also bypass the ecm cooling plate with a union. have seen a few of of those sucking air thier . also check your fuel line t's or shut offs above the rear of the transmission for fuel leaks. a shop with a cummins computer should be able to run cylinder cut out and the computer will show if a injector is bad or not. and i take it u have no check engine light?

no check engine light
-
bypass the ecm cooling plate first..
-
i have no idea what you are talking about
-
the mechanic will, take the truck to a dealership or cummins guy.
-
what will bypassing it do
-

Freebird135 Thanks this. -
By passing those parts will help troubleshoot your problem. They will bypass temporarily to help diagnose.
