Paying cash for an older semi tractor vs. financing a new one

On highway 41, barely in Spring Hill, near County line road. I forget the gents name, but he has spent a lot of time in person answering my questions and just being a decent guy, wanting to help. I've also got an acquantance that may help, who is a licenced diesel mechanic. He's got a job now, but has rebuilt some diesel sailboat motors for myself and two others I know. Mostly he does import car diesels, but is a good guy to direct me even if he doesn't want to deal with a 3000 lbs semi motor.

 

That's actually not to bad, provided the whole engine doesn't have to come out for the bottom end. I just bid on a 2004 century with a 14L det s60 with just over 1mil on it. They show the engine running and illustrate the blowbuy when it pushes the dipstick out. However the oil pressure is 48 at idle, which is reasonable isn't it. If I get it, I'm buying it cheap enough that I can put $8k in it without feeling bad at all.

 

I think its called redline diesel repair. I looked it up on the internet and the lot looks right and its about the right address. Small shop with quite a few trucks and the guy is unusually nice.
