This statement says alot more about you than Stevens, a good business does NOT try to shaft you, but works with you to fullfill both companies needs.
I am also an alliance driver and there is NO weekly charge for ezpass. There is a monthly charge back for 2/3 of the tolls for the month, minus NY bridges, and the Stevens volume discount. Your husband has the choice of running the OHIO turnpike or not.[/quote]
As far as getting a new truck is concerned, that is up to your husband to get it in writing, and then stick to getting a new truck, other wise he will stay in the one he signed the contract on, regardless of what is verbally said. I have an '07 without an APU, my choice, as $50 per week for an APU is not worth it as a business man for me.
I have NO troubles getting an opti stop route for every run, even when I choose a different route than the one suggested, and I have called at night and had the night crew send me a new opti stop route based upon my requests.
It is obvious that you also need to step back and look at the world around you and just how inexperienced you sound, and the fact that your mate is NOT running his business as a business, but is expecting stevens to do his job for him.

oh yeah ypu said it brother . i am so sick and tired of these driver always talkin about how their not making it out here on the road as a lease driver hell man i have quite a few friends that are lease drivers and they tell me that their making a killing on all the miles and that their business is booming because of all the work stevens has and it pissess me off that as much as i want to get in that game of being my own boss i cant for another two months until i get my clearance from safety . because of my work history thats the only thing thats is holding me back other than that i would me racking in the miles and dough . hell a 650 dollar truck payment for a new tractor 50 bucks extra for an apu ( fuel saver discount in my eyse if maintained properly) and run it at 60 mph #### the fuel surcharge alone would pay my fuel. as for sitting and waitng for a repower for 36 hours i would,ve gotten as close to the receivers as possible and either delivered it or tried for the repower again. just my opinion.

I agree Stevens is not the best company out there to work for or many good money with. Their lease program is a joke. I've been with them for a year and went to a much better company...
I hope that your fiancee isn't working for them any more. If he still hasn't found a good company yet where he wont get screwed i recommend you checking this thread out!!! http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...favorite-trucking-company-here/59021-jct.html -
From the sound of your replies and from all the wonderful things you say about Stevens, I have to suspect that you have a lot closer 'alliance' with some 'top dogs' at Stevens than the typical driver. Good for you. Just don't let your 'cheerleading' efforts detract from the fact that there are significant problems experienced by the majority of Stevens drivers that don't have such 'connections'. And yes, you obviously have 'connections' to be able to get your load assignment changed in route to the shipper and be able to drop your trailer and hook to a loaded one while other drivers are sitting waiting. Did it ever occur to you that you are probably driving off with the load that one of them was waiting on, thus adding to their frustration with the company? Yes, we have talked to drivers that have been sitting waiting at the 'meat patch' and received a message over the QC that their load was changed while they were waiting. Wonder why????

I do apologize. I am just beginning to get used to some of the 'lingo' used in the trucking business. My fiancee has 20+ years experience driving a Class 'B' tanker. He also has HazMat endorsement. I appreciate your recommendation, we have been looking into that thread along with some others. I'm glad you have found a better position and really appreciate your response. I was getting very discouraged since this forum seems to have been taken over by Stevens 'cheerleaders' and 'insiders' that seem to get all the cooperation they need and all the 'perfect' loads. Especially disheartening to hear that some drivers can get their load assignment changed in route to the 'meat patch' and be able to drop and hook. Guess they don't realize that the load they are grabbing originally was assigned to one of the drivers they see sitting on the lot waiting. Must be good to have 'connections'. Thanks again, good luck, and safe trips.

I appreciate that you aren't going to respond any longer. I didn't write about my fiancee's experiences to have a bunch of Stevens' cheerleaders respond to me, I wrote to express his and my frustration with the company, which happens to be the purpose of this particular thread on the forum. Also, learn to read the posts a little more carefully before mouthing off. Bye-bye and good riddance

And as I stated before, I don't have any "connections" to any of them "top dogs" nor "bottom dogs". I just happen to be lucky to have a good DM and I'm personable.
Btw, imagine the coincidence. My QC quit on me 4 days ago while going to Laredo. Immediately after I called breakdown, they wanted me to stop in Houston or come to Dallas. I refused both because I was tight on schedule and didn't want to lose my load (2000 miles/3.5days). Today I'm still without QC and all communication is being done by phone. It works perfectly good and since my QC doesn't transmit my location, it allows for some "creative logging"
I'll get it fixed sooner rather than later but it will be MY choice where and when. There is only 14 repair shops in the whole country so I don't have THAT much choice...
I already found out that it'll cost me nothing since we pay $15/wk it's all covered unless I damaged it myself.
My point is, I'm having totally opposite experience from you. Wonder why is that but surely not because I'm boinking Steve Aaron's daughter -
lol man that was funny boinking steven arrons duaghter . classic anyway when did passengers start running the lease for a lease driver . hmmm maybe he couldn't hack it as a lease driver let alone a company driver. wonder why he went lease in the first place. maybe just maybe he didn't want the company to tell him what to run and how to run it just my opinion.

With the attitude and ignorance of some drivers posting on here it makes me wonder if Stevens is trying to rid themselves of a headache..........
