this is big news. even though it surprises me pitt-ohio and averrit will be mentioned in the same sentence. pitt-ohio is a good company and they just got better in this alliance.

I think this is a good business move for all the companies involved, but there is that curious, almost nosey side of me, that wonders just how they came about this decision.
It's not like all the CEO's of all trucking companies hold meeting together you know..... one guy had to of gotten an idea, if not the entire idea, and then tried to get the ball rolling.
However it happened, all these trucking companies forming this union, makes me think, that they can, and do work well together, and must be very organized, atleast as of now. :yes2557: I am extremely impressed.

I run Line-Haul for DATS TRUCKING. We wouldn't be hauling as much freight if it was not for this program.

I work for Pitt Ohio Express and we have been "partnered" we Averitt for our southern points and Land Air for our New England points for quite some time before the rest of the network was established. It gives Pitt Ohio coast to coast coverage without incurring the massive overhead costs of locating terminals across the country. We had an agreeement with TransX for our Canadian freight but something didn't work out so they switched to Epic. I'm not sure who's idea it was for the network (you know all the CEOs will take credit) but it seems to be a win- win for all involved. I know it has kept the downturn from hurting us as bad as it could have. We still got our yearly raises and STILL don't have to pay anything for our family medical insurance.
