The one that caught fire was one of our company trucks. The driver had some injuries but the company really isn't telling us anything. We had another one the same week here in Dayton. No fog this time. Company is staying mum about this one too. Unfortunately our driver died in this one.
Dayton Daily News has that story.
We have gotten more news about these crashes from the media and other driver's speculation than we have from the company. I would have thought the company would have been all over safety meetings ASAP. -
driving through foggy hills on i81 in va... they should have pulled into a rest area until it cleared... oh wait...
stories like this freak me the &^%$^ out. when you can't see, there's nothing you can do. makes me wanna buy an 8 million candle power strobe light and stick it to the back of every trailer i pick up. -
I live about 2 minutes from exit 98, I-81 and unfortunately there are many fog, weather related accidents through these mountains along 81. It only gets worse at the I-81/I-77 interchange near the T/A plaza. I see many *super truckers* running 80+ mph in the damndest conditions here. Just goes to prove even careful drivers have the share the road with the fruitcakes of the highway
