Mehhh.... Had so many small things go wrong the past few days. It ain't helping my mood or my morale. Today wasn't too bad, though. Beer load from Trenton to Cartersville. Got flagged down by one of our drivers at the brewery. He was in his very first solo load, and was having issues. He had somehow managed to get one of his straps all kinds of jacked up on the spool. Traded him one of my unjacked ones and now I get the fun of fixing the one he gave me

Already got a reload in the morning, too, and in spite of all the crap going wrong, I should have decent miles this week. Due home Tuesday, family reunion Thursday. Hope y'all have a safe and happy 4th.

You've got me completely intrigued. Not sure that I can ever remember anyone on this thread with feet as itchy as yours. That's a cool thing, man. I'm very curious to see where you end up. I know you'll end up somewhere very different from where you are. I love watching people's journeys, it's fascinating and fun. But I can tell you're looking, and that's also cool. Always look up. Seems like you're getting restless and that's a sign of good things to come. Nations weren't built on the backs of content people, and lazy people are easy to rule. Can't wait to see where you go :)

First time I got my CDL back in 95, the goal was to get a local job hauling coal. Well that's no longer an interest, but I am pretty fascinated by the OTR dump lanes that are out there. Also really fascinated by oversize/over-dimensional but that's impossible to get into without first doing general flatbed and step deck freight and I no longer have an interest in pulling that kind of freight.

I would love love love to have an opportunity to haul those big long wind turbine blades. Or even bridge beams but I like the blades more. I see these heavy haul guys going down the road with 2846494 axles under their loads and I get a little happy

I have a load I haul pretty regularly that ends up on the east side of Illinois. Last time I was there, a windmill convoy rolled in and parked where I was. Ended up eating and having a couple brews with those guys. I don't wanna blow up their spot, so I'm gonna shoot you a PM. Good company, I looked at them before Landstar. Awesome company, very well run, great money.

My favorite trucking memories were when I got started back on the farm in the late 70’s. In ‘84 I turned 23 and hired on to Poole Trucks Lines out of Evergreen, AL Drove for Mr Walter Poole for 2 years, cool dispatcher, Pat Wilson. Flatbed, weird strange loads, creative tarping. Gotta wrap that load like a Christmas present,,, the consignee loved it, all of ‘em. I miss that.
Then went into industrial/construction electrician and ended up on the IT side of industrial automation. Good gawd what stress.
I miss flatbedding and specialized loads. Too old and too many motorcycling racing wrecks to do that #### again. Wonderful memories though.
Even today having returned to trucking, every now and then, I get that thrill again. :-D
