Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, and maybe I am just not understanding something... but I have not noticed these LNG fuel pumps at any of the truck stops where I fuel...

There are a few companies in Fl that have their own lng filling station and are like you imply, for daily local / regional use right now. I can see why a company buying these trucks ( if the numbers are right) and eventualy having a contract with a network of filling depots or building company owned facilities, would burn cleaner and cheaper fuel. Boone Pickens is an invester, big supporter and spending millions to advance alternate energy technology because he wants to stop our dependence on foreign oil.

Boone Pickens wants to make money-period. It the plan also happens to be clean it is good. Have watched this huckster for many years. Believe about 20% of what he says and you will have the truth.

I dont know much about him other than seeing his ads on tv and remember him talking about lng during the elections.
I think he also has a website to push his earnings even higher. It all depends on who funds the research. :)
Whats wrong with wanting to make money? As long as it helps us in the long run.

I drove school bus for several years on LP, the most frequent problem we had in the fleet was clogged fuel filters. Fueling takes longer and you can never fill a tank more than 75% to leave room for expansion. It's a cleaner fuel that is cost effective, but I don't see wide spread use without a national effort to develop a distribution system.
