Sorry, Six, but it’s totally not the same. Most fathers wouldn’t think twice about that scenario and proceed to injure that man in ways he never thought were possible. I certainly would lose my mind and not be able to control myself. It’s that sudden rush of fury that is so difficult to stop.

I am not saying that one should not stand down and follow the officer’s commands. Of course they should, but it’s not okay in my view to use your lethal weapon right away when one could use another weapon to immobilize the suspect. Maybe the suspect is insane. Don’t just end his life. If the suspect gets out of hand (like in the video), shoot him until he stops. If he dies, too bad.

What does being insane have to do with anything?

If someone comes into your house to snatch your kid, don't you want to find out his motives or whether or not he's insane?

if he's insane, it'll cost just as much, if not more to keep him locked up and on meds to control him...best to just point and shoot.

Money-wise, you are correct. However, it’s likely not his fault he’s insane. What if he was a military veteran? It’s wrong for officers to be taking out civilians and ensuring their death is certain by shooting him repeatedly, which I suspect is happening in some cases. It’s true that the case will be wrapped up sooner if the suspect is dead, but this is a separate issue.

i think anyone sane or insane, that lunges at anyone and that "victim" has a gun, "blast him away"...

what i find "funny" but not in a humorus way, is that so many times i have read, RIGHT HERE on this website..

"i'd rather be judged by 12, then the be carried by 6"...

yet, here we have a person most likely a criminal that most likely was affraid to go to court, over this "simple ticket", lunge at a peace officer...notice i said...peace officer and try to either wound him, or kill him...

and people are defending that person, maybe "some" of the very same that say...."i'd rather be judged by 12, then carried by 6"...??????

an insane person still knows right from wrong (in my opinion), and deserves no more "slack" for his/her actions, once a weapon is in thier hand(s).

same goes for a military vet..."got a weapon in your hand?, then you die as well"..

when do we just let all the perps do as they wish..??

you'll have anarchy if there are no controls in place, such as laws, and peace officers to enforce those laws (they do not make up laws), and a court system to decide, guilt or innocence.

and of course, bleeding heart liberals, and sidewalk memorials (i am sick to death of seeing those) and a "go fund me page"...

Ok, rereading the scenario you posed, I misunderstood your comment the first time. Assuming the stranger were still inside the house and with my daughter and heading out the front door, I would question him first (probably yelling as well). He then has 5 seconds to explain what the hell is going on. It would help to have more context in this scenario so I would know what exactly to do. If family came over last night, that would certainly change things as it could just be a friend of a family member. If it only was my daughter, wife, and I living with rarely any visitors at home, then I would be like 95% certain someone is trying to kidnap my daughter, and we know how that would end.

    P.S.

I’m not married nor have any kids.
