It seems it has been over 2 wks since my trainer and I had a load 2 days in a row. As a trainee, I'm am averaging less than 30 hrs/wk driving. My trainer lets me do all the driving unless I run out of hrs which happen once in the last 2 wks. Looks like it will take 12 wks instead of 8 wks to complete my training. My trainer is on the Midwest account. Is freight slow throughout company right now?
Is it me or is freight very slow @Werner now.

When I was out with my trainer we had loads to keep us busy most of the time. But, as I stated in another post, once I got done with my training I was told no routes or trucks were available unless I wanted to go team. Going by what has been said in other threads, that is exactly what Werner wants is for everyone to go team. Hang in there, things might get better. After I was a "voluntary quit" from Werner, I got a call from a local OTR company who wants me to start with them, better pay, home time and benefits.

Thanks jamesgang
OTR does not sound bad to me is long as the pay is there. I just sell my home or try to rent it out.Update, yesterday I got 10 and 3/4 hours in. I should of drove just a little slower. Lol.Lastly, I not sure trucking is for me. OTR with a team member could work for me because I'm single. I just have to have a compadable team member which should live near the Springfield, OH area.A couple more 10 hour driving days and I will be at 300 and I will ask to test out.

Good luck to you Nascar Bobby.

Can't be slow,
Werner was the ONLY ad in the local paper. Matter of fact, they had 2 large ads.
Both ads were recruiting "students" earn your CDL in 15 days. -
Frieght is slow. Going on my 3rd week with an average of 20 hours driving. Werner, I believe wants those student drivers because it could reduce cost. I wonder with 12 weeks straight on a truck will they let me test out if I do not have the 300 hours.

Wouldn't hurt to ask. What's the worst they can say, "No"? -
it's slow everywhere, my friend... no one is doing great right now. i still pull about 2500 a week, usually more though. still rare for me to sit longer than overnight.
where did you go, out of curiosity?
take the hours as they come. the training is not length based, unfortunately. your going to have to tough it out. -
Going to Dutch Maid out of Willard, Ohio. Small outfit with around 90 trucks. They run mainly east coast.

Update. Frieght has pickuped a great deal since May 1st. Around mid April, it was very slow. Also, I believe were dispathed sent me had something to do with the slow frieght.
