Just had my closest of close calls on the way to get this load. Where 270 and 70 come together on the east side of Columbus. So unbelievably close. Would have been super ugly. Car was getting off on 70 and changed his/her mind at the last minute. Inches, man, inches. I had nowhere to go but straight. My hands are still shaking. Someone pass me a couple shots of vodka and a cold Bud.

Yeah SC seems to love nailing people with the bridge law. You're allowed over 34 on your tandems in SC and long as you're still not over 80 gross. I can't remember what the limit is bit I want to think it's 40 for tandems

Ugh... People don't understand how dangerous it is when they play these stupid games with trucks, and Ohio drivers are some of the worst for doing it.Steelersjunkie Thanks this.

I don’t get the people that when it’s a blinding rainstorm, they are driving 20 mph below speed limit with no lights on. Fricking Iowa today rain wasn’t falling it was going sideways half the vehicles had their flashers on, all had their lights on except for that one idiot who was in front of me.
Steelersjunkie and dwells40 Thank this. -
I agree 100% Ohio has the worst drivers I've seen since I started trucking. I guess I never noticed it growing up here, must've just been used to it. But holy smokes they are god awful.RS730 Thanks this.

I drive 480 between North Olmsted and Maple Heights every day, if you're in the left lane and you're not running 15-20 over the speed limit then people will whip around you and pass on the right, drivers here are unbelievable. It's like everybody's late to buy a bag of crack! Construction zones slow down about 5 mph, the zone before North Olmsted had traffic running 65-70 in a posted 50-55 today. That's in a double fine zone lol. Or, and this is my favorite, they'll camp in the left lane and pace traffic to the right of them, but only until they finally get past them, then they're right back to 15 over. It's like they get their kicks controlling traffic like that, I swear I've seen it a thousand times

I guess I was too hard on the Chinese drivers the last 8 years.

So what he's describing, for readers not from Ohio, is the typical scenario for rush hour here. I can deal with that. Pretty accurate I might add. My personal hatred is when you experience traffic during normal times of the day and some idiot is doing 5 under the speed limit in the hammer lane. Happens literally all of the time. Basically, nobody here knows how to use the correct lane for the speed at which they wish to travel. It's friggin maddening. I have a very deep love for this state. However, the drivers can suck it. And, I'm quite sure that @RS730 can back me up on this... the traffic problems specifically in Cleveland make absolutely no sense. There simply aren't enough bodies there to justify the ridiculous commute times. There are way bigger cities that have way fewer problems. It's just the drivers. Bunch of dam toddlers out on the road.Last edited: Jul 4, 2019

Yeah, that made me spit beer out my nose

When I drove down to Cartersville to visit my Dad for Memorial day I was surprised at how smoothly traffic pretty much everywhere else ran. How people would move to the left lane, speed up a few miles per hour and pass, then move back to the right lane. It was amazing, it's like people knew how to drive or something. But you have to get away from Cleveland to see it! Drivers pacing people behind them will take you from being in a perfectly good mood to chewing on your steering wheel in like 10 seconds flat, especially when you know they're about to get back over to the right and SPEED UP lol
