I've been looking at this site for a while and am really just here to learn and gain insight to the occupation of driving a truck. I happen to have a class A CDL with a couple of endorsements (doubles/triples, bulk liquids?.. had haz mat but dropped it some time ago). In my earlier years I was a package car driver at UPS ad had a class B, and somehow that became a Class A several years later when I was already working at FedEx. I think it happened when the new CDL license laws were enacted. The only tractor trailer driving I've done, other than a pretty good training program at FedEx, was driving a FedEx tractor trailer to the airport occasionally over a period of about 5 or 6 years... and giving DOT roadtests to my drivers. In other words, I had no idea wat I was doing then, especially now, and am fortunate to have this class A CDL. I've been out of the business now for 12 years and have never let it go. You never know, I may have to rent a big truck some day. Anyway, I hope all you real truckers won't mind if I hang around and pick up on some lingo, tips, and learn some stuff from the real pros out there.
