SOMETIMES I'll see an add saying "no more than 3 jobs in5 years.". It's pretty rare. But you never know when you'll get a shot at a really great job, so try to be eligible.

It will absolutely hurt your chances of that one job, that once in a life time chance of hiring one with a premier company out there.
I had that opportunity and I'm not a job hopper. Been with the same place 5 yrs now, but 3 jobs in 8 yrs screwed me oit of a chance

I've worked for 5 companies since 2003, and have been with the final (last one!) for 4 years. It's a 'treater' job... home daily (yes, it's company...i never DID take the O/O quantum leap..) and off weekends and holidays (<which are paid, like today.) I was OTR in the early years, and landed that awesome asphalt job. Bossman's wife took him DOWN in the divorce, unfortunately. I haul 'boxes in boxes' literally anymore.....and am totally happy. Yes, I miss tanks immensely, but it's just not in the cards. I drove for this guy, for almost 5 years.... Well, I was gonna copy and paste SaferWeb, but it's not working. Saunders Trucking, LLC. He used to have 5 tractors and excellent asphalt contracts...but is down to ONE power unit, and it's OOS'd and IDK why. Sad.

Best wishes to ya, Thull. Missed you, man.

ps: Why are you giving up tanks?

    TripleSix and Thull Thank this.

Pretty sure how I got lucky where I am; at the top end of the payscale and there is NO cap. I miss tanks, sure....but I'm home, and not hot and sticky from hauling asphalt. ALL no'touch. I'm getting old, haha!

Been leased to the same company over 13 years. At least when, and if i do switch, i won't have to get a extra sheet of paper to list my employment for the the last 10 years. Am i happy all the time ? No, but make the best of it. Its not all bad. No if i was doing the hiring, i would pass on a job hopper.

I don’t want to give up tanks. But I think you can have a really Great gig & “Management” can really make you not want to be there anymore. Aww mannn your asphalt gig ended?!? I know that had to suck...

Yeah, It did.. but hauling flats out of asphalt season was not my niche' .... much luv to those guys...and admiration, for sure. Wife found me this new job (they don't advertise and it was a facebook something through a somebody LoL) ... Been here around 4 years and making bank. Around 300 power units between Ohio, IL and WI ... I'm happy, tbh. Better benefits; consistent runs / vendors. A daycab pedigree'd bulldog is actually pretty nice. Twin screw, for sure. Still a ten'er. (Ya get your pick with seniority~!)

Keep me posted, man. Good to hear from you. I don't even get on here much; just read from my phone. Kid even bought me a 'stylus' because I fat finger everything, haha! No help whatsoever, I'm a lefty, LoL~!!!

(Maybe I need a Galaxy ten? <<< and 3 months more of learning how to make a dang call let alone forums~!)

    Be safe,
    Tom

Haha I guess a old dog can learn new tricks! (Not calling you old:D) but a bigger phone would definitley help! Well I’m glad your wife was able to find you a gig you love! I’m hoping I make the right decision when the time comes! Thanks!
