First off get a bbq grill or a like a george foreman grill. Try not to fry, and have healthy snacks like a huge amount of twinkies or one of my favorites swiss cake rolls. They definitely keep the chocolate bars away. Also take leftovers from home. I used to have lilbit freeze them for me so that I didn't have to eat them all in one day. Also I used to use ziploc baggies(sandwhich size not 55 gallon drum) and fill them with pretzel sticks or honey nut cheerios. Drink and have plenty of water, I used to because after drinking two gallons of coffee just to get the truck out of the truck stop I would dehydrate a bit.
Ok sure some of what I just typed was untrue but it's up to you to figure out what it was!!!!! Yeah I'm back and still full of it... what's it to ya???? HUH![]()

First off, you didn't indicate wether or not you're a Lacto-Octo vegetarian or what, so I'll assume you just don't want to use your canines.
You'll need to supplement B-12 along with a multivitamin/mineral supplement, and I don't mean the grocery store joke of 100% RDA - that is just enough to keep you from getting scurvy or rickets and such deficiency disease we don't get anymore.
To keep from losing lean mass, you'll want to use some of the bodybuilder techniques, primarily about 1 gram protein per lb. of bodyweight per day.
In your case that means soy proteins, nuts, and whey. The whey powders keep forever and supply you with around 25-30g/serving and taste like a milkshake.
You didn't mention your bodyfat percentage, so I'll assume you're lean enough to take in a fair amount of saturated fats (not homogenized) without getting too blubbery...but...fat slows digestion too, so if you unload your own loads, keep away from them before the workout - load up on carbs instead.
Peanut butter. It's magic and has protein.
Broccoli. Your antioxidant friend.
Oatmeal doesn't have to be cooked and is FULL of fibre, although you are probably getting way more than most guys.
Finally, new science is showing that it's not necessary to eat every two hours - it's how many calories you take in in a 24 hour period.
For gaining, add 500 calories to your maintenance level.
For cutting, subtract 500 calories from your maintenance level.
Do something 3x/week that gets your lungs and heart pumping as a BARE MINIMUM for health. This will also help the body uptake nutrients into muscle cells.
You allready know to leave off of processed foods; make your intake from real food often as you can. Finally...
Milk. It does a body good.
Rocks Thanks this. -
Rocks get yourself one of those big jugs of whey protein at walmart to mix in with skim milk (chocolate, vanilla, whatever) It will go a long way towards keeping you at the proper weight. The only downside is it has a tendency to cause diarrhea which isn't great for the road. They keep it near the pharmacy section usually.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, I've been taking supplements and vitamins for years. Have thought about eating some fish or tuna.... but after all these years, the idea of eating flesh of any animal is really disgusting to me
(no offense to meat eaters, please). I will buy a slow cooker and cook beans, soy beans, while I am driving and force myself to cook more, even after work, when I am tired.... llike you said, don't want to deplete myself of necessary nutrients, don't want to get anemia or get so weak that I can't control the truck on the road... hahahha....
Forgot to say, I drink cow mild but that's the only animal product that I have. Forgot to say that I also take those protein shakes, muscle gain stuff and also take a lot of amino acids....

Getting slow there dancing purple avatar man!!!!

Thank you so much!
Will make notes of all you said. Some of which I've already been doing for years, but never paid attention to quantities, how many calories, and all that. I eat peanuts all the time while I am driving, fruits, bread, protein shakes.... I feel fine, but can't eat as I used when I wasn't driving everyday. Vegetarians eat much more than meat eaters, the food is light and it digests very quickly. I am 5-05 tall and now only 98 lbs....

My husband has lost weight also on the road. Each time he comes home he looks like he has lost more which is not good because he is around 6 ft and weighed 200 when he started and now I am not sure but completely lost his butt.

The odds are of course against it and I don't want to be an alarmist but I'm going to tell you this anyway so you're aware.
My father (a driver) went on that atkins diet for the heck of it and attributed tremendous success in losing a lot of weight quickly to the diet, and also some rear pain to hemorrhoids which he had had in the past. Anyway, feeling that both of these symptoms were explainable he didn't get checked out, and when he did it was stage 4 cancer.
So do take rapid losses of weight seriously and make sure there are regular checkups. Make sure it really is just the change in dietary habits. Truck driving is very sedentary so weight loss would be on the peculiar side.
