yes unfortunately it's no surprise so it's usually speed-related and stupid related but you got to remember there's many people now going the beer town from The Windy City especially with Summer fest and more events going on in Milwaukee so they just make that quick hour-and-a-half trip north of the cheddar curtain

Has nothing to do with FoxConn, that area of highway has been screwed up and under construction for at least 5 yearsBud A. Thanks this.

In an article published by the Racine Journal times on 10 march 2019. According to a guy named Brett Wallace who is a project manager for WI DOT the work has been planned BUT moved to the head of the priority list because of Foxconn.

This week I am covering a steady run that requires me using this corridor. I'm glad I'm driving at night, because this is some of the most haphazard, non-sensical construction I have ever seen in my life. The outside lanes are so narrow, it's ridiculous. I go the speed limit, and I sit in that middle lane. Get right up alongside one of those walls if you want to pass me. Have fun.
And good on that lady for suing. I honestly feel like she would have a chance if she sued the construction company as well. They did a poor job setting up those lanes.Trucker Kev Paid Tourist and Turn4 Thank this. -
Maybe but that area was torn up at least back in 2015. It’s not anything new. Exit 333 where the Petro is was closed for almost a year and that was at least 2 or 3 years ago. When I worked at Schneider it was a PITA getting to the drop yard in sturtevant due to the construction and I haven’t even worked there since 2015 so that was before that.Bud A. and Trucker Kev Paid Tourist Thank this.

They got a few setup on i94 right now in NoDak and MN/Wis
Believe one is 24 miles long. Least the lanes are full width plus the shoulder...
The two or three(?) in NoDak are long single lanes at normal width for 10-15 miles.
The difference is the traffic between the two regions. Can drive all morning on I94 and maybe pass five trucks....Bud A. and Trucker Kev Paid Tourist Thank this. -

that's why sometimes I feel safer now that they're open and got all the roundabouts done taking the frontage roads around till I get past that Petrostevep1977 Thanks this. -

yep like I said as the cheddar curtain seems to be slowly getting removed. othert the Brewers and bucks fans versus Cubbies and Bulls yes believe it or not many Milwaukee answer Blackhawks fans lol.. might notice that it's almost all connected out of Lake County Illinois straight on into Kenosha County all the way up..
the number of traffic flow in the last two or three years and as much as Milwaukee is grown in the last 20 years has really made a difference on that 94 corridor anymore..stwik Thanks this. -
A recent article by WUWM an NPR station out of Milwaukee quoted Michael Pyritz who is regional communications director for WI DOT. He stated that the third lane instead of a emergency shoulder/breakdown lane was a compromise. That it reduced rear end collisons but had the effect of raising other types of collisons. Furthur he mentioned that it wasn't exclusively because of Foxconn but that was a consideration. Other thing was a claim that the public wanted this because it reduced the total amount of time by about a year.

Yep and now Foxconn not even following through with all of their promises.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
