Under the "Hiring Notices" on the Equipment page of their site, Yes. OTR is hiring everywhere in the Lower 48.

Myself I don't spend a fraction at home what I did on the road. So yeah I could take a hit at at least half of that and still be OK.

So what you are saying is that you will work for roughly .20cpm and be happy with that. I mean you did say half.

Not at all, I was referring to the quoted amount of $360 less weekly revenue with local versus OTR.

If you can make your budget work on $180 less actual money and be home then thats the price that some folks are willing to pay to be home and have a life.

OTR is no life. Work and sleep.

Neither is working for straight time. Majority of the local work is no OT unless you are working LTL. And even some of that majority dont pay OT.

I spend roughfully 200 a week on the road, which is probly less than what I would spend at home. After all not gonna just sit around the house and do nothing now. Showers are free when you fuel (unless you cant manage your fuel stops and get 40 gals at a time) and I eat at the truckstop no more than once a day and on very good terms with walmart. And laundry isnt much diff from on the road or at home. But I'm glad your defending your husbands decision to work for that much of a pay cut. You mentioned at .39cents # 3000 is 1170 and .27 # 3000 is $810 a week and only a diff of 360 a week. Thats all good and said untill you go a little more past a week like .27 x 3000 x 52 weeks = 42120 a yr. and .39 x 3000 x 52 weeks = 60840 a yr. not a bad pay cut considering most of us hasnt worked for 27 cents a mile since the late 80's or early 90's. And my daughter is so dumb she will never get into college and my son, well he strikes a nice fitting picture with that shovel in his hand. Who in this economy needs that extra $18720 a yr. This thread started as you telling everyone about a company (or recruiting for a company who knows) and has become you somewhat defending a move by your husband. You are preaching to the choir when your talking to most (not all ) driver trying to do the best for there family. We know were probly gonna miss johnny's baseball game and my right hand will get more loving than my wife will but we all signed on for this ride for the love of driving or to give our familys the most we can give. I could go on about this all day but I wont and stop now

her husband is still out for a week at a time isnt he? That is still otr or reg at the least. Still gotta shower unless he only showers on the weekend and still gotta eat somewhere unless he only eats on the weekend. If the pay equals out at .39cpm and .27 with more home time it sounds to me like he has drivin for TWO bad companies. I know of a company out of the Midwest that gets their drivers home on weekends and still pays .39cpm. Trucks probably aint as pretty but they are petes. Just my thoughts.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I am just letting others out there know of the option this and in my personal experience we are much much better off yes he did take a cut on per mile which for worked out fine because with swift he spent more time sitting in a truck stop waiting for loads than actually driving its not this way with Mid-Con and he isn't just home on the weekends He is home weekends plus atleast 2 or 3 nights during the week so he is able to shower at home not have to worry about laundry and not having to constantly eat dinner at truck stops or fast food places. Yes I understand there are going to be times that he will miss out on things but its not like he is missing out on just about everything like he was before. So yes I do support my hubby's choice to take the pay cut to actully feel like I am part of a relationship instead of a single mom of 2 that has a check deposited into the bank on paydays and has seen the inside of walmart more than I have seen my husband. So say what you will to each their own, if you are driver that wants to be with you family more this is one to check into yes the per mile rate is lower but it is well worth it.
