I know all companies lie, but Sharkey takes the cake, 1st they say on website $1000 gaurantee, when you get to [FONT=&quot]orientation they tell you they
don't do that anymore, they tell you they have dental but they don't tell you not for
a year and 3 months, they have you sign a contract to pay back the orientation pay
and cost if you don't stay 120 days and then they tell you they hold your paycheck 2 weeks. There equipment is junk!! They have lots of loads going to piece of crap yards they won't pay tolls around Chicago and soon to be everywhere it looks like.
Lots of sitting, not many miles, they don't give advances, there is not much positive to
say about this company, they squeeze every penny they can out of the driver. I wouldn't consider working for them if I were you.

Must have changed since I worked there 2 yrs ago. The $1000 guarentee was the real deal, just had to run 2700 miles a week. I had a newer Mack, had around 45k on it. They had prepass for toll road and all that. But, it might be different now.

The guy I trained with at a different company ended up there last year. The $1000 per week minimum was real then, along with being home every weekend... things change, yes? Lotsa people sitting, and biotchin' about not enough miles all over, so I wouldn't be so quick to quit. The grass ain't necessarily greener anywhere these days.

His Mack was a dumper - always overheating. Ran across him on I40 in TX one time... waiting for things to cool down. We had a good laugh about all of that!

After thinging about it I can come up with three good things about them:

    1. Usually you know where your going next before you get to your drop.
which I like for trip planning.

    2. When you have to sit, they aren't real nitpicking about going to closest
truckstop, they don't leave you hanging out in vacant lots or next to road.

    3. They are good about getting me home when I need it and are flexable
    on time off.

So like you say it's bad everywhere now maybe they ain't that bad.

    Baack Thanks this.

####! I always wanted to run Mack. Maybe I'll try to find a cherry coal route with 20yr old Mack dumper to run.

Those 3 things are pretty #### important (big) things to most drivers out there.

You will sit for long periods no matter who you drive for, right now. It's just crappy out there, stick it out and get some experience by the time you get your year in and get used to doing things the way they do it, you may not want to leave.

Similar happened to me, with TMC.

After a while they had to force me to quit (fire me LOL)
