Man, that really sucks! Hope you get rolling soon! I would be mad. But i guess you just learn to roll with the punches.

I am new to the forum and trucking, but I would say that Central wouldn't do something like that with two newbies. I am going through the training this coming monday. So i do know that they will train newbies. I have read on their website that they do team driving. My reasoning is that you have to go through your 28 day trainer period first. You are then assigned to solo. Or have the option of team driving. I just dont think they would do that.

    Just my 2 cents :biggrin_25512:

Thanks for the info all! Good to hear we can team after full training.

Are there any advantages to driving team as far as truck size or miles or....?

    Cool! Now I know.:biggrin_25525:

Rakusa, You two must get along pretty good to want to team drive together. I don't know if that is something I would ever want to do. The training with the trainer sounds bad enough to me. Unless of course you get a good trainer. But from what I have read throughout the forums, that is hard to get. I have been told that you usually get a bigger truck as far as size goes and I dont see any advantages to that. JJ seams to know whats going on pretty good. Hope to read the response soon.

They changed that too then. I know of 3 differant teams that went out as a team with a trainer, 3 in a truck.
Since there was not much sleeping room, the truck rolled 24 hours a day. All drop and hook for the most part. I know, they had a guy with me for 7-9 days. The truck never stopped lol.

I know there old idea was to always train teams as teams. They had several trainers that specialized in training teams. I know a boyfriend girlfriend, 2 brothers, and 2 friends. All did this. And those are just ones that were in orentation when I was. I saw others during my time working there.

But as I said. They may be splitting them now. I know there have been some changes to the training recently.

CR England does it. Read the forums and you'll get plenty of knowledge.

Ok I just asked JJRANCH and he said there are trainers who will train teams as in Hubby and wife together.

Two friends they are likely to train separately and upgrade them together.
