I want someone to inspect my turbo, and fix it.
In case of rebuild, I want my turbo to be rebuild, not to give away mine and get other one.
I have "out of calibration" code for yrs now, and my big hose is oily inside, but no oil leaks.
Apart of that, turbo works fine, very good uphill.
Nevertheless, I want to someone to inspect it and if necessary, fix it.
I simply can't find a shop that is doing that: fixing/rebuilding my own turbo.
Waiting for repair is not an issue, just want to find someone reliable.
    Anyone?
    Thanks :)

most shops will not rebuild a turbo as they have to be balance with a specialized machine,. risk factor is high if it fails and takes out the engine with it. no one wants to get stuck with that bill!

Not worth the effort to get it rebuilt. The couple i have seen from rebuilders do not have the lifespan of a genuine reman and/ or failed shortly after.
I know a genuine cummins one seems like a bit hit to take , but it is a way smarter decision down the road. Pay bigger once, or do the job multiple times for even more.
If you have aftertreatment on still, a failed turbo can take it out as well resulting in a higher bill and could also put shrapnel through the engine.

    Ok, thx.
So if I understood correctly, you are suggesting me to buy a new turbo from Cummins?
I thought it is impossible to buy a new turbo, only rebuild one, and giving away core.
    I don't have aftertreatment anymore...

Cummins will have either a reman or new one for sale. Either or is good
    Core is probably trashed anyway

    Caberinjo and spsauerland Thank this.

It has been a couple years since have tried to buy a VGT turbo from source other than OEM, but most rebuilders had issues trying to source all genuine Holset parts. The ones rebuilt with aftermarket parts were garbage and most were replaced within the warranty period.

    Ok, I'll contact them.
But wanted to see what is anything wrong with my turbo, it still runs great... it would be insane to trashed it.
