I just applied for a dock to driver position with them. Talked to a few of the guys local to me and they all seemed really happy.

Newer guys just getting into this job who lack a frame of reference may do well at Saia. Veterans on the other hand are far less likely to tolerate their level of micromanagement.
USMC 3531 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Sorry I meant to respond to this, the insurance is through United healthcare and runs about $25.00 a week for me and my wife, the dental for both of us is about $15.00 a week, any other questions feel free to ask me.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

Do they still do the deal where it's company paid after 10 years of service?USMC 3531 Thanks this.

Pretty much what is said here. Them being strict is terminal based. Just like any LTL. Some of the top LTL’s have their barns with strict management. Mine went from waaaayyyyy laid back to very strict with the cell phone. It’s easy to not use a cell phone. I bring a maganet for the vent and have a cell holder magnet. I never have the cell in my hand and they can’t tell what I’m doing. Guys that get in trouble over here generally are doing more then cell phone. I’ve got one video in 9 months. Recently out of 90+ drivers I was 1 of the 4 without a video. Just drive as safe as you can like a grey hair and they’ll leave you alone. There’s no hurry up here. They rather see you do your job safely then be the fastest driver in the world.FlaSwampRat, USMC 3531 and The Shadow Thank this.

We recently got a new safety guy for our region, he was monitoring the videos heavily at first and sending anything and everything for the TMs to review and coach, seems like it has settled down for now.Radman Thanks this.

Anyone knows anything about Burr Ridge, IL terminal? They are always having hiring events.
-
No I don't, best thing to do is either try to hit up a driver that is running out of that terminal, one of their p&d drivers maybe, 2nd option of course is just go to the next event and see what's up.EuropeanTrucker Thanks this.
