Heavy's not as bad as these Weather Channel goofballs that send the new intern out into the street in a foot of snow to say, "yep, it's snowing."
I figured out 'the Game' a while ago and now it amuses me. "Weather Porn" I call it. They want you to stay inside, huddled under a blanket, glued to the TV as they tell you how bad it is outside and not to risk going anywhere. (All the while pedaling life insurance, coffee, snow tires and whatever other advertising they've sold.)

On the other hand when I'm out in my truck, (and driving) I'm not reading TTR. So I usually only check this forum after the fact. So play by plays for weather when it's happening don't have much value.

Personal gripe/rant: my favorite website for realtime weather radar (because listening to weatherband radio gives me a list of counties and towns I might not be familiar with. Give me realtime radar!) has been purchased by another company (incidentally, owned by the weather channel) and now I have to use their laggy, graphics heavy poor interface to get a weather map.

    (Intellicast.com taken over by Wunderground.com)

You can't even navigate via the maps, you have to choose from a text list of cities and if you're out of range of one you have to go BACK a page to the scroll list and figure out which of 2 dozen cities will cover where you're at.

Watching news this morning. A talking head announced this storm as a Climate Change event.
Hurricanes probably have been happening since Earth was Earth.

    Earliest hurricane on record
Christopher Columbus wrote the first record of a hurricane in 1494 when he described a storm that struck the island of Hispaniola
    Hispaniola
Hispaniola is an island in the Caribbean island group known as the Greater Antilles. It is the second largest island in the Caribbean after Cuba, and the most populous island in the Caribbean; it is also the eleventh most populous island in the world.

. The first recorded hurricane to strike the U.S. mainland took place in August 1635. Hurricanes are tropical cyclones occurring in the North Atlantic
    Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest of the world's oceans, with an area of about 106,460,000 square kilometers. It covers approximately 20 percent of the Earth's surface and about 29 percent of its water surface area. It separates the "Old World" from the "New World".

Its pretty much a little dallop of rain here and there if its a mind to, hardly worth the update.

This storm is over as far as I am concerned, until the next one i guess.
