What is the preferred location to train pros and cons? Those who have trained in CA and later seen what Utah is like may have a better view of this since Utah trained may not have seen the location in CA.

Saw an ad in the Sunday classified for Central hiring drivers here so that was encouraging to see and now I am close to applying and would it be better to call a recruiter first (Russell, thanks JJ) and let them get to know me before filing the app? I figure one would have to sell themselves to the recruiter with the theme more geared toward what I can do for Central more than what Central can do for me so any tips on how to approach and talk to the recruiter or the successful steps you took to make it to training is appreciated.

    Thanks anyone...

Yes once you leave for school you stay gone until you have completed your training with a trainer. The amount of days depends on the miles they are giving you. Plan on staying gone for awhile.

I am hoping JJ can get a trip this way since they are going to keep him in the area until next Wednesday and he can grab his last student for a while!

There were no students at WVC or Fontana Yesterday so that means all students left yesterday after Orientation with a trainer.

I'm sorry, Widow, I thought Walt told you:
I bought my truck from Central and I use it for farming here in Colorado. I haul sugar beets and hay with it. I harvest beets in the fall and haul hay from the Western Slope (Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction) back to my area in the winter and summer.

The Camaro is running back and forth to the high school with no major problems. I'm going to let Colton drive it until the end of the school year and then he has to give it up to tear it down this summer.

It was good to meet you, 1bad, and you are invited to the house anytime you need to kill some time in Colorado. You can help with the Camaro if your bored, or you can use my pickup to run around if you have things to do. That is an invitation for all good folks, like yourself.

I hope things get better my friend, you are a good man and a strong worker and you deserve the money that should come with that.

Stopping at my place will often fit in to the logbook nicely. My house is almost EXACTLY a 10 hour run from the SLC terminal, so its a good place to spend the night. Plus, we can park a truck behind the barn, or I can send the kids down to pick you up in the Camaro.

1bad, sure hope your miles pick up for ya when you get back out. Mine sure have this time but think it might be do to pity. lol (do companies ever pity their drivers?) Figured they would get me into Olathe ASAP so that they could put my truck in the body shop to fix the hood and paint the new fender. So far tho, their running my ##### off. YEA!!!!!!

Didn't have to sit long in W. VA at all. Headed out this morning to OH and am doing 2 pickups then heading to OK. Now how did they screw the pooch on that and send me towards the house? May even be home for Memorial day.

1st pickup and I have a whopping 5000lbs. Ya'll ready for this? Toilet bowl brushes with caddies!!!! Way cool. hehehehehehe
