This is to set the record straight so that the people who read this thread get informed correctly with accurate information.

Most of what Grand ma has said in the above post is accurate with the following exceptions.

    1. They do not conduct the medical in full view of the class. the medical is done in Ron Johnson's office and a private room off of it is used for the examination. there is a bathroom to the rear of his office that is used for the urinalysis. Granted is office is located in the right rear corner of the orientation but is walled and has a door access. The work well is done in an entirely different room.

    2. As for the hiring process since they only hire from the own school for now is as follows. first day is paperwork, work well, medical, and criminal as well as verifying the information you put on your application. once you have passed the medical, work well and screening process you move on to the school. once you pass the school you finish the orientation process and get assigned to a trainer. after you have completed your training you go in to upgrade. that consists of a road test to evaluate your skills you have learned and a reorientation which consists of classes and videos and quizzes that test your knowledge and understanding then you get assigned a truck. it is true that if you can't pass the upgrade road test they will let you go. I can tell you this that the upgrade road test is more forgiving than the schools road test.

    3. The one year contract that Grand ma refereed to is an agreement between you and Central for the School it states that you agree to work for them for a year and you pay 1200 and they pay the rest or if you lease they will forgive the school. However if you choose to leave Central before the year is up you will have to pay the full balance.

with that said the rest of what Grandma said was pretty accurate however i do like the food in the Central Café i even ate there this morning JJRanch:biggrin_25525:.

You don't have to worry about selling yourself to them just make sure the information on your application is accurate. It is their job to sell Central to you. :biggrin_25525: JJRanch.

OK the Mistress is out of the Shop and i got a few bits of info for the L/O's who are not aware of a few maint related items on their trucks. if you already know about the following they you ahead of the game.

Make sure to check with the shop about the following. It will save you in the long run and prevent you from missing out on a 2000 mi run.

1 Chech with the Shop about the type of clutch you have weather it is a self adjusting or a manual. mine is a manual and if you have very little or no free play it is time for an adjustment.

2 Have the shop check the ECM setting on your truck and see if they were set correctly from the factory. mine were not and even my manual setting for my engine fan was turned off. My truck pulls alot better than it did. and they dont charge you for the check.

    3. Get all of the service intervals for your truck not just the A and B services. there are others like the crank case filter, battery service, fifthwheel, alignment, DPF system, and overhead but on the ISX motor you won't have to worry about that until about 350,000 to 400,000 mile mark.

    4. last but not least make sure your annual inspection is current and up to date.

with that said the Mistress is good to go and i am a little more informed. JJRanch.:biggrin_25525:
