OK, tell us what you know, what you know for a fact. You'll have to explain what you mean about Werner has a cut in a lot of them. Sorry but I don't understand what you mean by that. And your comment "thats the way they make money". That's the way who makes money? All of the big carriers recruit from the schools, some of the smaller and regional carriers do too. Also, what did you mean by your statement "... and in return pay for you"?
They do have nice equipment but not everyone gets a truck. Before the economy went into the toilet, everyone with the ability to drive, did get a truck after training.
You surely understand about the economy and jobs don't you? Would you like to be the one who gets a nice shiny truck and sits for days on end or would you rather they said sorry no trucks because there is no freight? It's not just Werner who is slow business wise, it is every trucking company in this country.
Werner is trying to stay in business and trying to keep the current employees working.
In order to do that they have to show a profit. Before you continue to bash Werner I think you would be well ahead to do your homework about this company and the trucking industry. These are bad times and every company is doing what ever possible to stay afloat.
BTW your profile says that you were involved with a Werner driver, is he posting about his apparent unhappiness on here too?

A lot are slow but still hiring good drivers and when I did 48 with Werner in the good times I sat a lot and ran 200-300 miles then picked up something that was to be delivered 20 miles down the road 3 days of work,300.pay check for the week.I know some road drivers make good money and miles but I was not one of them.Werner treats drivers differently and the time I was there I talked to a lot of them and figured it out and can you tell me if they sold their hunting and fishing lodge to put extra money in the bank, not sure if they even owned it but they say theirs in messages I got.I am sure they quit giving the custom made motorcycle away for top recruiting driver but not sure on that one. I know the driver who won one of them. You can find faults in all of the trucking companies and I have found it in a lot of them that I worked for but Werner goes above and beyond most of them and they talk safety but that is only when a driver cost them money but for my part they could care less if a dedicated account is hurting drivers they just put them on light duty and send another one in to replace the one that got hurt and if you ever did Family Dollar or Dollar General you would know what I am talking about.I am glad you can defend them and if more Werner drivers joined this site I am sure there would be more doing it and more who would be fat mouthing them as well.TEI would be a good one to fat mouth but they went out of business in 2007 from what I found out but they could be open under a new name,a few have done that as well.JMO

How long did you work for Werner?
-
looks like the usual werner bashing heh, kick the dead horse over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....you catch my drift, broken record...haha...i drive for werner, have for 3 years, they treat me good, maybe because i run dedicated freight, and i have a great fleet manager....but then you have those ppl that work for werner for 4 months and give up, and come on here and bash them all around...different strokes for different folks.
-
Oh so true, couldnt have said it better myself... Not only is there the four months or less people on here, but now there are the ex-girlfriends who bash for the guy who can't/won't do it himself. Very few can come up with any fact about what they have to say about Werner or any of the big carriers. All they can do is whine about their experiences and have nothing to back up anything that they post on here. Oh, let me change that by saying darn few have anything to say that is fact.
-
I've always thought if you haven't driven a truck more then 90 days then your complaints are invalid, but maybe thats just me.

I worked for Werner from 11-05 till 05-09 .In that time I got knocked out of a trailer got knocked to trailer floor from a repack box that should have been on floor because of its weight and the way it was loaded it shifted in the box turned me and down I went and now I have a knot just below my knee cap,I blame Werner and Family Dollar for they have a right way to load a trailer but their loaders do not follow it and Werner just does not care. When Swift,Werner and JB hunt was in there Werner was voted by the stores to have the worst rollers but now the are #2 but that is because Swift left for they wanted more money for their drivers so they lost their contract with FD.The miles I was talking about did happen to me and I got the pay stubs to back me up and if not for being on a dedicated board I do not think I would have lasted that long!

Thats a good one but in America you have a right to voice your opinion whenever you feel like it.I have met people on sites that don't drive trucks but they respect truck drivers and some don't.All Americans have opinion's about everything even if they don't know a thing about it.On the CB you will hear a wide range of topics and a driver will jump in but does not have a clue what they are talking about and voice his/her opinionlike I am doing now...lol

You didn't talk about how much weight you lost running F*D? I would say about 50lbs. If they cared they would pay more for drivers to run these hand unloads, vent the trailer, use fans etc. They put many of the newbies on FD or DG accounts and hope they don't complain. =They will actually act like something is wrong with you while they sit in dispatch air-conditioned =they don't care it's about $$$.
As a driver, in this game, you really need to look after yourself first if you plan to last. The fat-##### promoting the company line are the last people to trust and in the end are usually the most bitter when they are cut.
I applaud you DG and FD lumpers/drivers. You are the real deal and it only gets easier.LetsChangeThis Thanks this. -
People have the right to their opinion, and they have the right to be a ratchetjaw. But that also means that I have the right to not listen to them, and turn the switch to off.luvtheroad Thanks this.
