Hello there! How is everyone? Hopefully you are all in a better position than I am right now. I hope you are all in a better position than I was 2 weeks ago because those last two weeks have been nothing but hell. They have been nothing but hurtful to not only my bank account but also to my soul. My spirit. Just hurtful to me as a person. So hurtful that its had me wishing/praying that the rest of the world is not like this, but you know what? Sadly, I think it is. Some people remain willfully ignorant.

I quit my previous job. A very good job. I was bringing home close to 2k every pay period. I was even home 5 days a week and when I was out never did I have to sleep in my truck. Always a hotel of my choosing. Never had a problem with dispatches, nothing. Why did I quit then? Who knows. I wanted something different and I actually wanted MORE experience. Some OTR experience. So I started my search for exactly that.

Thanks to my knowledge I have obtained from visiting this website I avoided the usuals. The companys that could leave that familiar bad taste in your mouth. I stayed the F away from the regular bad boys on the block. I need'nt say their names. Also at the same time I'm not putting or trying to put anyone under by talking negatively of those prementioned companies. Some excel and some fail. More power to you.

    Fast forward. sakjfkljafkljfdklfdsklhflkahlkdfhkjashfkjshfkjdhfjakhfsakjahs

I got a job at Heartland Express. Of course, some drivers on this site have posted their opinions in threads, once again, at this very site. Yea, I read them. But, I've always said to myself that you can't take what everyone says for the truth. YOU GOTSTA LEARN FER URSELF!

Anyway, these people set me up with a trainer that was very outspoken against anyone that was not white. Mainly blacks and sand (rhymes with wiggers). Oh man! First thing that caught my attention was when we were driving through Chicago and he said to me "You should have hit that car!" I asked "Why?" and he said "It was full of blacks!"

I asked the man why he despised blacks so much. I mean, really? What could make you hate blacks so much? TV? What you see on MTV/BET/Rap Videos? Because on every episode of COPS you see a black guy being arrested? Well everytime I watch Americas Most Wanted theres a story of some white guy raping little children. And everytime I hear about mass murders its almost always a white guy. But at least I have the intelligence to realize that everyone is not the same. There is no race on this planet that does not have blood on their hands. Just because this black guy has abunch of necklaces on and his hat is backwards does not make him a gang member and just because this white guy has a bald head and is from the south doesn't mean he is a racist! People are dumb.

What the guy didn't realize is that I, myself, am half black. I am white and black. His words were very hurtful. I am light skinned and look white so he had no idea. This guy was a fat guy in his 40s. I should have parked the truck, told him to get out and beat the living daylights out of him. Instead, I parked the truck, grabbed my stuff and told him to leave me as I was. He says why and I tell him that I'm half black. Should have seen the look on his face. He didn't say one other thing to me. He pulled away.

I contacted Heartland Express told them my story and they did not believe me. Told me he was an outstanding individual. I then told them that I will not be going back out and I will find my own way back home. The guy I was speaking with then said "Good luck finding a new job."

They did not believe me. Funny thing is that I had a tape recorder in my bag because I like to write and when I get ideas I sometimes record them so I don't forget them. I got everything that guy said on tape and everything who I was talking to from Heartland Express on tape.

I controlled myself. I acted in a very civil manner. They did not. I did not know we still had idiots like this in the world. I do not care for your beliefs when it comes to race. I believe no one is better than anyone. Well, maybe your character yourself but you are not better than the next man just because of your color. We're all human beings. Yes, there are people of all colors that make everyone look bad.

Some people remain willfully ignorant. He is one.

i have never judged a person on anything, including the color of ones skin.... i am a firm believer that there is only one being that can judge another. and that being is not of this world. this is truely a sad injustice you have endured, i can tell by reading your post that you are an educated person of high character. i am positive you will have no problem finding work elsewhere and remember to keep your head high, and character even higher. i also believe you have a nice case against that company if you pursue it. hang in there, and be safe......

    1) i wouldn't worry too much as his parents didn't do a good job.

    2) As far as the rest of the world:

Unfortunately, this is what really sucks about it: It's very prevalent. Too prevalent; i even have people like this in my own family---- because my grandparents were not perfect, but also the upbringing/surroundings have a lot to do with it as well.

i was hoping that things would eventually get better and better; If you compare even recently as the 60's, it would appear that way.

Unfortunately, this is something that we may not ever be able to overcome.

    We'll talk more later, probably.

What sucks even more is that you'll probably never be able to get a job in trucking. You can bet that Heartland Express left you with a really ugly DAC irregardless of what may or may not happened with that inbred jed, ###### idiot you were forced to spend time with.

I don't doubt any of the story. I just want to be fair to everyone here and make people realize that NOT everyone is like this. In addition, this whole racisim thing is a two way street and their are plenty of minorities who have a HUGE dislike for the white man as well.

Trust me, I already have legal representation. I don't know how far I want to take this. I really don't want anyone to lose their job over this but I believe some sort of justice should try to be recieved.

I mean, we're all entilted to our own opinion. I don't want to come off as a baby. But, because of this man I did not feel comfortable continuing my employment. I mean, scratch that, if the person I spoke to at Heartland Express at least believed me and not come off to me as uncaring then maybe I could have worked something out. Different trainer, you know?

I'm not a dumb individual. I have more than a CDL. I obtained my CDL during rough times and I really needed quick employment. I did what I had to do.

I will move on. I have a conference call with my lawyers and people from Heartland Express Jon the third of June.

They want to give me money! They want to give me a few bucks like that is going to help. Know what I told them? Get the guy that was training me and all I want is an apology. Ok, maybe some money, too :yes2557:

All I want the man to do is shake my hand and apologize.

At the end of the day what difference does it make what this guy says. What happened to sticks and stones and such. My goodness if I ran away like a Frenchman from a cap gun every time someone said something annoying...well lets just say I'd be one skinny dude.

News flash. The world is full of annoying people be they racist or just the ones that drag their fork on their teeth when they eat. Live and let live and move on. Now you are unemployed and he isn't so what did you accomplish?
